Safe Host is seriously commited to improving the world we live in. That’s why Safe Host has been using “Vitale Bleu” power from its Geneva provider, Services Industriels de Geneve (SIG) since 2003. The power provided is certified by TÜV (TUV Certificate SÜD EE01) as 100% hydro power. Certification guarantees that the power comes from renewable sources, a majority Swiss-based, including 25% local production. This means that emissions have been reduced to just 12.4 grams per kWh. That compares to 526.3 grams per kWh for power from standard sources. As a SIG Vitale Bleu power user, Safe Host also contributes to the development and modernisation of hydraulic power installations in Switzerland.
Safe Host is also an associate member of The Green Grid, a collaborative, non-profit organization “committed to improving the resource efficiency of data centers and business computing ecosystems.”
Safe Host signed in 2015 the éco21 Program of the Services Industriels de Genève (SIG): Ambition Négawatt Vision. This program support important energy consumers with their environmental strategy to minimize their impact on ecology and help them to manage their energy efficiency in order to get ISO 50001.
Besides, Safe Host is the main supplier for thermal rejections within the CADZIPLO project in the industrial area of Plan-les-Ouates (ZIPLO) to cover a significant part of needs of heating of ZIPLO buildings and the Cherpines residential area. Originally, it is an ECOSITE project (2007) launched by the État de Genève.
Safe Host carried out end of 2014 an energy audit to list all the actions to put in place to improve its environmental impact.
